Interviewed by: Frank Giardina
It’s been a phenomenal college football season in the state of Oklahoma. The Sooners, the Oklahoma State Cowboys and the Tulsa Golden Hurricanes are all ranked in the top 25. Each team is having an excellent year and has an outstanding young coaching staff.
On this edition of Sports Spectrum Today we talk with long time college football coach, Dave Rader. Dave lives in Oklahoma and was the head coach at Tulsa in the 1990's. He’s also a former offensive coordinator at Alabama and has a great feel for quarterback play.
Dave has some interesting thoughts on the quarterback play in the Big 12 conference. It’s been nothing short of sensational—Graham Harrell (Texas Tech), Sam Bradford (Oklahoma), Chase Daniel (Missouri) and Colt McCoy (Texas) have put up remarkable numbers.
Dave feels that one of these four players has a better chance of being a solid NFL quarterback than the others. We learn who it is and why.
It’s also "silly season," the time of the year when many college coaches are fired. Dave’s lived through being dismissed and shares some of his experiences.
