It’s not easy being a young football coach. Nor is it easy to be a first year offensive coordinator at a program with high expectations. But that’s the case for Jeff Mullen, he tells us about it on this edition of Sports Spectrum Today.

Jeff has already taken fire from West Virginia football fans—the offense has struggled early in the season. This isn’t unusual—he and many other offensive and defensive coordinators around the country are unfairly criticized each week by fans. Earlier this season Auburn fired their offensive coordinator, Tony Franklin.

Despite the pressure and the criticism, Jeff talks about his motivation for coaching. He also talks about why he enjoys the profession and describes the relationship that an assistant coach should have with his head coach.
